AI Speed Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the AI Speed app and the aispeed.io website collect, why, and the choices you have. AI Speed is built and operated by Arctic Grey, Inc. ("Arctic Grey", "we", "us"). Last updated: August 30, 2026.

Data the AI Speed app accesses

When you install AI Speed from the Shopify App Store, the app requests the minimum Shopify API scopes needed to do its job:

Read access to themes, products, and content (read_themes, read_products, read_content) — used to analyze your storefront's templates, images, and metadata for speed opportunities.
Write access to themes (write_themes) — requested only when you explicitly enable optimizations. Every change is made on a safe copy, previewed, backed up with a timestamped restore point, and reversible in one click.

The app also processes storefront performance data (Core Web Vitals and related timing metrics from real sessions) to measure results and detect regressions. AI Speed does not read, collect, or store your customers' personal information, order data, or payment information.

Data collected on aispeed.io

Our website uses analytics and advertising cookies to understand traffic and reach visitors later with relevant ads:

Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type).
Google Ads and AdRoll remarketing tags, Meta pixel — used to show ads to people who visited aispeed.io or our Shopify App Store listing. These set third-party cookies governed by the respective providers' policies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, and your browser's cookie controls.

How we use data

To operate the app: analyze your theme, generate optimizations, keep backups, and monitor performance.
To support you: respond to requests sent to our support channels.
To improve the product: aggregate, de-identified usage and performance statistics.
To market our services: measure our site and listing traffic, and run remarketing campaigns.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the processors needed to run the service — cloud hosting, the Shopify platform itself, analytics and advertising providers named above, and AI model providers that process theme code and image data solely to generate optimizations for your store. Each processor is bound by its own data-processing terms.

Retention and deletion

Theme backups and optimization history are retained while the app is installed so you can revert at any time. When you uninstall AI Speed, unreverted changes are restored and app data associated with your store is deleted within 30 days, except where Shopify's mandatory data-deletion webhooks specify otherwise. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you operate, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws). Merchants can exercise these rights — and customers can route requests through their merchant — by contacting us below. We honor Shopify's customer data request, customer redact, and shop redact webhooks.
